What data we collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:
- Anonymous device ID — a randomly generated UUID created on your device and stored in your browser's localStorage. It is never linked to any personal identity.
- Vote data — your daily sentiment (bullish/bearish), temperature (cold/warm/hot/burning), and market quality (signal/noise) votes for SPY and BTC, stored in our database alongside your anonymous ID.
- Date and asset — the date and asset (SPY or BTC) associated with each vote, used to compute collective sentiment and score accuracy.
We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, IP addresses (beyond what infrastructure providers log by default), or any behavioural tracking data.
How we use your data
- To aggregate and display collective market sentiment across all users.
- To score your votes against real price outcomes and show you your accuracy over time.
- To maintain your voting streak and session preferences on your device.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
Third-party services
Sentio uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — our database provider, where anonymous vote data is stored. Supabase may process data in the EU and US. See their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
- Polygon.io — source of SPY (S&P 500 ETF) daily price data used for accuracy scoring.
- Binance Public API — source of BTC (Bitcoin) daily price data used for accuracy scoring.
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — distribution platforms that may collect their own data per their respective privacy policies.
- Google Fonts — used to load typography. Google may log font requests. See fonts.google.com/privacy.
Sentio is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these third-party providers.
Browser storage (localStorage)
We use browser localStorage — not HTTP cookies — to store your anonymous ID, daily vote cache, outcome cache, and preferences on your device. This data never leaves your device unless explicitly sent to our servers as part of a vote submission. You can clear this data at any time via your browser's storage settings.

Data retention
Anonymous vote data is retained in our database indefinitely to maintain the integrity of the collective sentiment history and accuracy scoring. Since votes contain no personal data, there is no practical risk to you. Your local device storage can be cleared by you at any time.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data we hold about you. Since we hold no personal data linked to your identity, these rights have limited practical scope. However, if you have any concerns, contact us at support@sentio.com and we will assist you.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Sentio is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used the app, contact us at support@sentio.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
